Start with usable outings
A flexible weekday schedule and regular use may make a club appealing. A narrow Saturday window requires closer investigation. A reservation policy is not proof that the boat you need will be available.
Put the tradeoffs in writing
Ask about active bookings, peak restrictions, local fleet capacity, damage obligations and how to leave or pause the agreement. Consider occasional rental, charter or ownership if your needs do not match the available plan.
